Renewing your PCO licence on time ensures you can continue driving legally without any interruptions. We handle the entire TfL renewal process—paperwork, tests, fees and follow-up—so you can keep earning.

Renewal Timeline

We recommend submitting your renewal 3–4 months before your licence expiry. TfL processing can take several weeks, and late renewals risk suspension or removal from the register.

Renewal Requirements

  • Valid UK driving licence (held for at least 3 years)
  • Enhanced DBS check (via Update Service or new application)
  • Medical exam with a TfL-approved doctor (if required)
  • SERU test & English language evidence (if outstanding)
  • Recent passport-style photo & proof of ID

How much does it cost to renew my PCO licence?

TfL charges around £310 for a PCO licence renewal application (excluding medical, DBS, and any training costs). We provide a full fee breakdown so there are no surprises.

Can I continue driving while my renewal is being processed?

Yes—if you submit your renewal before your current licence expires, TfL allows you to keep working until the new licence is issued. If you miss the expiry date, you must pause driving until renewal is confirmed.

Do I need a new DBS check for my renewal?

Only if your latest Enhanced DBS certificate is over four months old or you’re not on the DBS Update Service. We’ll verify your status and, if required, arrange a fast-track recheck or new application.

What happens if I miss the renewal deadline?

If your licence has already expired, you must stop driving immediately. Contact us urgently—we may still be able to assist within TfL’s grace period to reinstate your licence quickly.

This includes the £50 booking fee and covers document checks, case setup, appointments, drafting and correspondence. Disbursements (e.g., TfL/DBS/medical/test fees) are non-refundable once paid to third parties. Distance selling / early start If you purchase online or by phone, you have a 14-day cooling-off right unless you ask us to start immediately. By opting to start within 14 days, you agree that: if you cancel before completion, we may retain payment pro-rata for work done (minimum retention: the £185 admin fee); and once the service is fully performed (e.g., your application is prepared and/or submitted), the cooling-off right is lost and no refund is due. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights. Client cooperation & non-response You must provide accurate information and documents we reasonably request. First 7-day notice: if we request information, you must respond within 7 days of our email. Second 7-day notice: if you do not respond, we will send a second email giving a further 7 days to reply. Closure for non-response: if there is still no reply by the stated deadlines, we may treat the matter as abandoned, close your file, and retain the £185 admin fee (which includes the £50 booking fee) for services intended and undertaken to progress your application. Disbursements already paid remain non-refundable. After closure, we will not continue acting. If you wish to pursue a licence, you must re-apply independently or via a third-party provider. Communication Requests and notices are sent to your nominated email and are deemed received when sent. You are responsible for keeping contact details up to date and checking spam/junk.
