Is your PCO Licence lost or missing?
If you have lost your PCO Licence badge then you are not allowed to work as a Private Hire Driver. This is what marks you out as someone who has completed their training and got their PCO licence. You must display your licence in your minicab at all times, this shows that you’re an official driver and not a tout or illegal cabbie. If you value working legally and don’t want to get into any bother by the authorities it’s so important to keep to the rules so address any problems immediately.
It could be that you’ve simply lost it, it’s been damaged or it’s been stolen. If your badge or licence has been lost in a public place or stolen you must report this to the Police who will provide you with a ‘Lost in Streets’ or Crime Reference’ number.
Simple Steps to follow:
- Contact the police and report it
- Contact TfL on 0343 222 4444
- Stop working as a Private Hire Driver until the badge has been replaced/found.
TFL – Taxi and Private HirePalestra 4th floor (Green zone) 197 Blackfriars Road London SE1 8NJ
You should only commence working when you receive official notification from TfL that it’s ok to re-start. Shortly after you will then be sent a replacement badge by Recorded Delivery post and your licence will be updated with your new badge number.
If you have any questions telephone TfL directly on 0343 222 4444.
