PCO Licence Application Requirements
There are 5 major PCO Licence Application requirements for London.
1/ The application forms,
2/ The Medical Check,
3/ The DBS Check (Criminal Record Check),
4/ The Topographical Test.
5/ The English Language Requirement (SERU)
This not an exhaustive list but highlights the essential points which need addressing before your PCO Licence application can be submitted.
Point 1. Fully complete the Application forms
First things first, if you’re looking to become a Mini Cab or Chauffeur Driver in London then you’ll need to complete the correct forms! The PHV/203 is the main form which needs completing. Point 2. Have a Medical Check
Please read here to find out what the medical check will entail.
We can provide you with a Medical Declaration form (chargeable). If you are a Platinum Package client we supply this form free of charge.
Point 3. Complete your DBS check
Complete a DBS check with a specific Online Disclosures company. Every applicant for a PCO Licence must carry out an enhanced DBS check.
Please note, once you have completed the DBS check you have 4 months within which to submit your full application to TfL. So it’s safe to say, make sure you get all the application submitted within this time limit.
Point 4. Topographical Test.
As part of the application for a PCO Licence you will need to demonstrate your topographical skills (map reading ability). We provide full support and training to candidates from all backgrounds and learning abilities. Please note, we were a TfL approved Topographical Test Centre (Barking). Point 5. Go through the application checklist .
Once you have completed all the relevant requirements above make sure you enclose all the supplementary information outlined in the PHV/203 application form. If you’re from outside Europe, you will need to provide additional proof of your right to live and work in the UK. Eg Proof of National Insurance number and/or residency proof.
