What is the PCO Licence?

The licensing scheme is run by TfL which is still know by many as the Public Carriage Office (PCO), a department of Transport for London (TfL) and is needed to do Minicab or Chauffeur work in London. Without this personal licence no Minicab/Chauffeur operators/offices will employ you.

5/ We’ll electronically submit your licence application to TfL.

6/ Receive your PCO Licence through the post. Total cost to you including everything: £499.99 + Cost of a Medical check with your registered NHS GP

Approved By Transport for London

The Vehicle Site Ltd was previously approved by TfL to become a Topographical Test Centre for over 3 years. Now all Tests are done in-house at TfL’s premises.

During 2016 TfL investigated the conduct of hundreds of Topographical Test Centres in and around London. It transpired that many centres were issuing Topographical Test Certificates without adequate assessment procedures. This lead to the closure of all centres across London and the withdrawal of their ability to issue Topographical Test Certificates.
